Debating Society
There is a saying , “the art of debating is not convincing the crowd that you are right, its more about convincing the crowd that the opponent is wrong.” So it has become a norm that every college must have a debating society, and NIT Durgapur too boasts a group of extraordinary and talented individuals who show just how capable they are.now NIT Durgapur is a technical college so most of you are probably wondering as to what importance does a non-tech club like the Debating Society holds in this college. Trust me, I had the same dilemma , but once you get accustomed to this place you find out that debate is one of the few ways to freely express yourself. Never before seen open elections took place on the 22 nd of February in 2017. The usual gruesome and haphazard polling and publicity was nowhere to be seen though!
